Schatzoeken in Nijmegen: 5 lievelingsplekken

A few weeks ago Anjolieke from FOR KEEPS and Ninoshka from @nisha.insights went treasure hunting in Nijmegen. After having lived in Nicaragua, Italy, Finland and Spain Ninoshka now lives in Nijmegen The Netherlands. “Why we moved to Nijmegen? My husband received a job offer from Radboud University and it seemed a good choice to make, so far I like living in this beautiful city and all that it has to offer: safety, plenty of great places for foodies, sustainable shops and friendly people I’ve come to meet.”

What are the 5 favourite places to find sustainable and preloved treasures?

1. Het Goed

Industrieweg 50

Het Goed is huge and is located slightly outside of the centre of Nijmegen. On the second floor there is a great coffee corner to get some nice drinks, read a book and just relax. At Het Goed people really put an effort into the selection and the presentation of what they sell. Not only do they give each item the space it needs for you to actually see it. With the color selection and even color palette inspiration, they also give creative ideas on how to combine the items you are looking at. So not only preloved treasures, also new ideas for what you already have. Got to love it!  Anjolieke

2. Ieder z’n Vak

Lange Hezelstraat 72-76

A place for designers, artists, craftsmen and private collectors. At this place you can find new and vintage items, especially selected for the art lovers and the treasure hunter seeking for unusual and unique things. It’s my favorite place to go when I want to give a special gift. Actually I was here three weeks ago before my trip to Finland finding some gifts for dear friends. And also it was one of the places where I found treasures to furnish my home when I first arrived to Nijmegen. To be precise I got a vintage lamp and two bedside tables. Ninoshka

3. Collectiv. by Swan – Nijmegen

Molenstraat 80,

Like the name says: it’s a collective of independent brands that offers a variety of products; from clothing to home décor. The products are not always sustainably made, but they are from local brands, handmade and/or support a good cause donating a percentage of their profit. I also go to the Collectiv if I just want to get inspired. Because the items are placed in the most artsy and inviting way that you feel like staying a long time wandering and discovering new and exciting brands.

My favorite part at Collectiv is the corner that belongs to Phixi, a fun and vibrant vintage and vintage inspired brand that shows preloved fashion is hip and can be timeless. Two of my fav pieces for summer were bought there and I could not feel more unique wearing them.  Ninoshka

4. Van Nature

Burchtstraat 126

Van Nature is not a second hand store, but one of the biggest places I know that sells a sustainable option of almost everything you need: makeup, clothes, kids toys, soap, blankets, sketchbooks. You name it, they got it – made sustainable. So if you do need something new, this is your place to go!  Anjolieke

Van Welderenstraat 9

Every time I’m in Nijmegen I try to go here, this is my personal favorite. The store looks like a boutique, spacious, color selected, items shown like they are really worth your time and attention. And it works for me. Not only is there plenty of space to walk around and try items on, they also have plenty preloved and sample dresses, blouses, pants and a lot of pretty shoes. <3 They sell brands like FIlippa K, Vanilia and Supertrash Anjolieke
